This is an exciting time of year at the studio. Our Recital plans are coming together, competition season is about to start, and our annual Fundraiser for Recital Expenses begins January 15th. If you would like to add a class, this is the perfect time to do so. It’s time to start the New Year. Welcome 2018!
The Recital Theme is a Fifty Year Celebration
Costumes. This week you will receive an envelope with your costume prices on it, payment is due February 1. Only costumes paid for by this date will be ordered. Students will be measured for costume size during class.
Recital Fee. The recital fee of $200.00 for tickets will be due April 1st. This is one fee per family. We charge this fee instead of charging per ticket at recital time. It covers the rental of Whiting Auditorium, the union stage crew, scenery, programs, props, and dressing room crew, etc. You will receive 12 tickets and will be able to waitlist for more.
Dancers’ of the Month. Youth Student of the Month is Lilly Thrower. She has accepted the challenge of more difficult classes this year and has shown great improvement. The Junior Dancer of the Month is Aubry Adekunle-Simpkins. She has returned to our studio with great enthusiasm is studying hard to improve and soar as a dancer. Our Senior Dancer of the Month is Kaitlyn Robinson. This Gold Team Member is a talented dancer and is working hard towards her next Ballet Exam. She is a leader in our school and sets a great example for our younger dancers.
Fundraisers. The candy sale begins Tuesday January 15 and runs thru Feb 24th. Each box contains 50 assorted dollar candy bars. You will receive $10.00 for each box that you sell. This is a great way to earn money for costumes and recital fees.
There are also GREAT REWARDS for our top sellers: First place will receive a FREE RECITAL FEE, second place will receive a FREE COSTUME. Any student selling 8 boxes of candy will receive a RECITAL T-SHIRT.
Detroit Pistons Performance. Matlock Competition Pom Teams performed at the Little Caesars Arena. Great job dancers, you were awesome and a great time was had by all!
Cecchetti Council Ballet Day. Those ballet students that are in Grades I-V are invited to attend classes on Sunday, January 27 at Wayne State University. Teacher refresher is on January 28h. Your ballet teacher has registration forms if you are interested.
Ballet Exam Schedule. There are extra classes posted to get the girls ready for their exam. Please speak to your ballet teacher if you are interested in having your dancer prepare for this. There is no extra charge for these classes: Grade I: Saturday 8:30 – 9:30, Grade II: Wednesdays 4:30 – 5:30, Grade III: Tuesday 4:45 – 6:15. Please check the website calendar updates for all schedule changes or cancellations before you attend.
